These are now made of porcelain rather than bone china. These are not identical to the tin can alley plates I bought a decade ago and a year ago. They are slightly thicker, heavier, and clunkier.

No longer made in America. Also, looks like porcelain no longer Bone china.

All of our China is now produced to be more sturdy and durable for today's lifestyle. Consumers have indicated that they prefer dinnerware that can be used on a daily basis and can be put in the dishwasher. Lenox employs a vast number of American workers at a variety of sites throughout the United States.
In order to provide these jobs, in a competitive environment, Lenox has made the decision to place the crafting of some of our products overseas. The artwork is designed and usually sculpted by our own artists, and only then crafted overseas under our direction and supervision to meet exacting Lenox standards for beauty and quality, which has evolved over the last one hundred years.
Thus, whether you purchase a product crafted in our Lenox factories here in the United States or by a master craftsmen abroad, you can be sure it is an original Lenox design produced from the finest materials and worthy of the Lenox trademark which it bears.
