I wash these often. After 3 or 4 washes I could see threads coming loose and colour slightly fading. Hence, depending on what you spend on these—it goes on sale often—it can be a great buy or ok buy. Built well. Heavy material. I have a 54” waist, and had to buy size 50” to fit. Hence, in B&T it’s not true to fit. Wash on cold, inside out. Levi’s recommends washing it ever ten years.

The pants were great but had a button down fly not a zipper??? I had no idea and will never wear except around the house. Useless.

Back then, a 14-year old actually sat in a bathtub for 3 hours in le original 'shrink-to-fit' jeans.....it was cool. And cold after about 30 minutes. I've not worn anything else since, except for a period in the late 80's thru early 90's when I was, erm...at parties that lasted for days in the country side in the UK. As an Architect, I can get away with wearing black - non-faded - 501's, polished Chelsea boots and a blazer. I buy them two at a time, and use the ones with the black buttons for the really important Clients. I buy the Big 'n' Tall series b/c I like the extra stretch - especially two decades ago when my dancing was, well 'nuff said. In all truth, photos, videos, all are pointless if you don't know what Levi's 501's are. That I've worn then coming on about 40 years - as a teenager, a young clubber in the 80's - founding member of MOS in London - to Client presentation in Venecia, Hong Kong - IS TESTIMONIAL ENOUGH. PERIOD.

Been wanting a pair of Shrink to fit for a while now.....got em a waist n length up...washed em in warm water .....great fit after...FANTASTIC!!!!....
