SonyLinkBuds Open True Wireless Earbuds - Black

Web ID: 20166009Better sound quality
I own the previous model, and I've noticed that the battery life has diminished after about a year and a half. I've always preferred open-ear earphones over in-ear ones. The overall sound quality of this new model is improved, and I hope it is durable.

Don't work
I bought these maybe a year ago. I only used them at the gym. I haven't gotten much time out of them and now for some reason I can't get them to pair. They don't even show up. I have literally tried everything. I don't know what to do? I know Sony has always been a go to for me so this makes me really sad that they aren't working. Please help!

Hi Reet, We are truly sorry to hear that your Sony WFL910 are giving you trouble, especially since Sony has been your go-to brand for so long. We know how important your music is for your gym sessions, and we want to help you get these paired again. We recommend performing these two specific procedures in order: 1. Reset the Headset: This process clears minor errors without deleting your paired device information. Guide: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2964/v1/en/contents/TP1001300702.html 2. Factory reset: If the standard reset doesn't work, this will return the headset to factory settings and delete all pairing information. Guide: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2964/v1/en/contents/TP1001300701.html If the issue persists after the factory reset, please contact our technical support team directly so we can further investigate the issue and offer a solution: Support Link: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=headphones We value your loyalty and hope to get you back to your workouts soon. Thank you for considering Sony! Regards, Dominick
Useless - fall out all the time.
I bought these Sony WF-L910 open ear buds after seeing a review in the Telegraph of headphones for sleeping in. Unfortunately they are useless. Only one size of flexible silicone ear tip (that keeps it in place in the ear) is supplied, meaning that they fall out immediately. The previous model WF-L900 included 4 different sizes - we all have different size ears obviously - and Sony have inexplicably not done the same with the newer model. I am pretty shocked as I expected could design from Sony, and this suggests a real lack of thought.

Refuse to stay in
I needed a headphone design that allows me to hear my surroundings while jogging, so I bought these headphones on the premise that they allow ambient sounds to still be heard. The concept is great on paper, but poor in execution. These earbuds simply fall right out of my ears. I did some research online to figure out why, and discovered that Sony makes a "large" supporter to replace the small ones that come in the package. (No mention of this in the manual strangely.) So I contacted Sony and they sent me a pair free of charge, which was nice. However, they made almost no difference. They are barely larger than the standard supporters and did nothing to keep the LinkBuds in my ears. Within five or six steps, they simply drop out of my ears on both sides. I followed the fit instructions exactly, watched the videos online on how to wear them, but no matter how I put them in my ears, they refused to stay. I am a normal-sized male with normal-sized and shaped ears. I don't see how these will work for anyone. I'm giving them two stars because the sound quality (when they stay in) is actually decent. But unfortunately, they are simply not the secure, active headphone solution I needed.

Hi there, We genuinely apologize that the unique open-ring design of the WF-L900 LinkBuds is incompatible with your ear shape, preventing the secure fit you require for jogging. Since a secure fit for active use with effective ambient awareness is your top priority, we would like to recommend the Sony WF-1000XM5 Noise Cancelling Earbuds. While primarily known for noise cancellation, they feature a newly designed shape and come with noise-isolation earbud tips made of unique polyurethane foam. This material provides an incredibly stable and comfortable fit that conforms to your ear canal, making them far more secure for jogging than the LinkBuds. Crucially, their best-in-class Ambient Sound Mode is highly effective, allowing you to clearly hear your surroundings while running. Thanks for choosing Sony. Best regards, Eliab
Really useful in office environments
Been using these to listen to music or videos in the office and even at home in the living room. I can hear when people are trying to talk to me and it's much better compared to ambient noise in anc earbuds. However, this isn't usable in really noisy environments like restaurants or on public commutes

Niche product for niche customer
I use these earbuds at work, 10 hours a day. I can take calls in a loud environment (i.e. forklifts, many people talking etc.) and the person can hear me clearly even if i am wearing a single earbud. I will be very honest, they do take some getting used to, but once you do get comfortable with them, you forget they are there. I originally used sealed earbuds, but wearing them for so long would cause me ear pain. with these, that went away. I my specific use case, there is no better option. I bought them a month and a half ago and already logged 150 hours of use, the battery lasts me 2-3 day between charges.

Hi Jorge28! Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review of the LinkBuds Open! We are very glad to hear that they have been a game-changer for your long workdays. It's truly rewarding to know that the open-ring design has provided a comfortable and pain-free solution for your all-day use. We appreciate you choosing Sony! Best regards, Estefany
Improved version!
I originally own the first version of the Linkbuds and the left bud had a battery draining too fast issue, so Sony replaced them with this version. Comparing with the previous version, here are the pros and cons. Pros: - Better sound quality, longer battery life, wide area tap is not that sensitive (with the previous version, if I was eating nuts, the crunching noise often activated the wide area tap. Cons: - Poor fit (for my left ear, it is very difficult to keep it in the holding position, so I need to keep adjusting it.) - The wide area tap can be a little more sensitive for adjusting volume. Overall, I still like these.

Hi Socal_Subin, We're glad we could resolve the battery drain issue on your original pair and that you're experiencing better sound and endurance with your new LinkBuds. Your specific notes on the wide area tap sensitivity—less sensitivity during noise like eating, but a desire for more responsiveness for volume control—are very helpful and will be shared with our product development team. We also regret to hear the fit is difficult for your left ear and will use this input for future design improvements, as comfort and stability are key. Thanks for choosing Sony. Best regards, Eliab
Great linkbuds are perfect for everyday use
Love these open earbuds.. They fit the office life so well and generally I have them both in and can hear both worlds... I love how I can tap my cheek or talk to pause. I've always dislike tapping the actual headphones on over the ear .. Honesty can feel like iron man talking to Jarvis au times
