Lofty, packable, warm and windblocking

Lightweight, lofty, super packable, and windblocking. What's not to love? Small enough to take on any casual day trip or extended travels as an extra just-in-case warm layer and technical enough to rely on for your most serious mountain pursuits layered under a shell when space is at a premium. I wear it for freezing dawn patrol dog walks to cut the wind and cold, chilly fall days and nights around town, and layer it under my shell for resort ski days and cold, winter hikes.

Low quality zipper brings down overall value

The reason for 3 star is mainly the quality of zip. It is made with low quality material. It is sometime very difficult to zip up as one is unable to insert it in the zip slot. Overall the down jacket is well made and it does a good job of keeping one warm.
