Lofty, packable, warm and windblocking
Lightweight, lofty, super packable, and windblocking. What's not to love? Small enough to take on any casual day trip or extended travels as an extra just-in-case warm layer and technical enough to rely on for your most serious mountain pursuits layered under a shell when space is at a premium. I wear it for freezing dawn patrol dog walks to cut the wind and cold, chilly fall days and nights around town, and layer it under my shell for resort ski days and cold, winter hikes.

Low quality zipper brings down overall value
The reason for 3 star is mainly the quality of zip. It is made with low quality material. It is sometime very difficult to zip up as one is unable to insert it in the zip slot. Overall the down jacket is well made and it does a good job of keeping one warm.

Exactly What I Looking For
I was in the market for a good quality down hoody for my upcoming backpacking and kayakpacking trips. I tried on a couple of more affordable and one comparable priced jackets but I didn't like the fit too much. They were all too loose in the belly/hem area. I have 42 inch chest and 36 inch waist and this size Large jacket leaves me enough room for mid layer yet not too loose. The size Large weighs in at 11 oz which make this jacket not the lightest down hoody but this jacket has more fill weight than other lighter jacket and gives you more warmth. Overall great
Great jacket. Fitted yet maneuverable, warm and packable. Zippers could be more robust and easier to handle with gloves... they seem a little weak compared to the rest of the jacket.

Phantastic Puffy
Pretty much the best puffy I’ve ever owned. I love the Pertex fabric. One of the only synthetic fabrics I’ve experienced that *does breathe! It is plenty warm. I just got it so I don’t have experience with freezing temps with it. But it’ll do what I need it to do on cold nights and mornings while backpacking and sitting around making food. Read some reviews that complained about the zippers. The zippers are fine. They’re YKK and are small to save weight. As long as you don’t hammer on your UL gear…you’ll be fine. I’m 6’0” 165 lbs. with longer than average arms for a 6 foot guy and the medium fits me perfectly.

Hype down hoody
Especially when caught on sale and you don't necessarily care about the color, this is one of the best values for lightweight down on the market.
