Just purchased the castles and I am in love! I own a few other styles but I am so digging this pair.

Just got the Castle sunglasses. Only took 4 days to deliver even with the reader lens. Extremely pleased. Have a pair of Maverick’s, love those. Wanted another pair of readers. Have numerous Maui suns, love all of them. Great Sungalsses

I have bought a few Maui Jim models by now, I must admit, with the newest addition being the Neutral Grey STG Castles. My previous purchase was the Black Corals (HCL Bronze STG) and I have had my eye on the Castles for a while. I was a bit apprehensive about the size measurements, even though Maui Jim states it is for the average sized consumer. But I think there is a difference between 'fit' and 'look'. The Castles definitely has a bigger 'look', but an average 'fit'. I have an average sized head and the Castles fits me perfectly (however, due to the frame construction, this will fit a bigger head, too). And generally, Maui Jim's recommendation regarding the fit is on par for me. Another interesting thing is the weight of the Castles compared to the Black Corals. The Castles does not have any metal alloy in the arms (just the acetate), whereas the Black Corals has the metal alloy running through the acetate arms, making the Black Corals the heavier of the two. I honestly cannot decide which I like the best between the Black Corals and the Castles. They are too different and yet does an excellent job in both the look, coverage and feel. A major frustration of mine is eyelashes touching the lens and the bottom bit of the lens resting too much on my cheek. I was surprised that the Castles does a better job of NOT doing that (in comparison to the Black Corals), despite the difference in the lens measurements. The Castles gives great peripheral coverage (comparing to other base curve 6 and 4 Aviators), but the Black Corals in this instance does provide a bit more peripheral coverage than the Castles. Overall the Castles is a quality build (despite the pin hinge and lack of metal alloy in the arms). If I am forced to choose between the Castles and the Black Corals... I might just have to order another pair of both in different colours!!

I bought these glasses to replace a pair that I had lost. The thing I love most besides the polarized lenses are the temple arms. I wanted aviator sunglasses, but because I put on my sunglasses with one hand, the wire temple arms on most aviators are to flimsy and I always have to use two hands to put them on. Not with these--I bought these specifically because although they are aviator type glasses, the temple arms are rigid and work perfectly to put on/remove with one hand.

I like the style and quality of the Castles Aviator sunglasses. I was a bit surprised. that for the price, they came with a drugstore level barrel hinge instead of a more upgrade spring hinge. Short of that, they look and feel fine. Hope they last as long as my last pair.

I love these shades @mauijim’s. I was replacing my Oakley Holbrook’s that I’ve had for many years and they took a beating backcountry skiing as my skinning/cat/helo shades. These shades look much cooler than my Oakleys and the world looks more defined behind these lenses. They appear solid and well made (but very light and no pressure points), but I doubt they will withstand what my Holbrooks withstood. But when I put away my skis, I look forward to the beach with these bad boys. Nothing quite says chillin’ like these perfectly appointed Maui Jim’s!

Amazing lenses but very fragile to drops, and just everyday use. This is my third pair cause they break easily. I only wish Maui would make them with adjustable/breakaway legs. Think that would help.

Received my new sunglasses day before a weeks vacation to Vegas, absolutely loved them!!! Fit well and let air in behind glasses so they didn't fog up when moving in and out of air conditioned buildings. Love the tint. I got the bronze tint. Perfect for me!
