Almost Perfect Purchase for My First 990s
This was my first time buying New Balance sneakers, and I came in specifically for the classic 990 in grey. I have wide feet, but the standard width ended up fitting perfectly once I adjusted the laces. The sole is incredibly comfortable, and I’m already looking forward to wearing these on an upcoming international trip. I’m knocking off one star because the pair I received showed signs of being worn before, there were several short white hairs inside the shoes that looked like dog hair. Otherwise, the shoes themselves are great.

A drop in quality of the 990 V6
I am a longtime wearer of the New Balance 990 line. The current 990 V6 is not up to par with the earlier versions. I am sorely disappointed in this shoe.

LOVE the 990s!
I love these shoes! They're actually my third pair this year – I wear through shoes quickly, but New Balance keeps me coming back. They're comfortable, supportive, and I think they look pretty cool too. We were in Paris recently, and I noticed New Balance everywhere on the streets, which confirmed my suspicion about the cool factor! I even found an old photo from 1984 after I ran a road race, and there I was wearing New Balance. I've been loyal to this brand for years, and for good reason.

Hole in mesh within 6 months, dissapointed
After wearing them for half a year, there is already a hole in the toe mesh of one of the shoes. I know it's not because of my toe nails because I keep them short, plus it doesn't even rub there. And I don't do any kicking or any activities that would create a hole. For the price I paid, I really expected better quality. These are the most expensive shoes I've purchased, and the only pair where a hole has developed like this. I'm sad because this was a splurge to have matching shoes with my partner, and I like how they look and they've been comfortable. His shoes did not have this issue, just mine so maybe mine had some issues in the mesh area. I think the hole may get bigger and more noticable, it already has in the last few weeks since I noticed it.
