Other occasion to buy:Would recommend only as a complete set if I knew from experience this china is actually dishwater safe and that the glaze is tough enough to resist utensil scratches and it was not intended to mix with other antique or recent gold trim china.

size, shape and trim don't go with antique china

Noritake Accompanist cups and saucers survived one dishwasher cycle without damage to the gold trim. Body color is ok, but they are over-sized to mix and match with antique gold-trimmed plates and bowls, most of which have narrower gold trim at the edges & more delicate decoration detail and many of which are smaller in diameter than today's 10 1/2" d dinner plates. Will be returning & looking for other dishwasher safe bone china for that purpose.
