Pocket book chock full of wisdom
POWERFUL THINKING was sent to me by Hachette Book Group, free of charge, in exchange for my honest review. World renowned teacher, and speaker, Joyce Meyer, wrote this non-Christian pocket book, that was based on her bestseller, POWER THOUGHTS. She has written more than 130 books, many which were New York Times bestsellers. Many of them have also been translated into 155 languages. She is not only a bestselling writer. She has radio and television programs, and a podcast called TALK IT OUT. Her books are interesting and filled with wisdom. In POWERFUL THINKING, she is teaching the reader how to change our lives by changing our thinking. It isn’t a devotional per se, but it is set up kind of like one. Each chapter starts with a verse. And, at the end of each chapter are questions to ponder and apply what we’ve learned. And, because it is little, we can throw it in our purse and read a section when we have a free minute here and there. These are the sections included. BECAUSE I AM IN CHRIST… I can do everything I need to do in life I am loved unconditionally I will not live in fear I am difficult to offend I love people and enjoy helping them I trust God completely and have no need to worry I am content and emotionally stable God meets all my needs abundantly I pursue peace with God, myself, and others I live in the present and enjoy each moment I am disciplined and self-controlled I put God first in my life I love that she ended the book by showing how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I definitely recommend this little pocket book. I think it would make a nice gift.

Positivity cultivator
With positivity being my focus word of the year, I’ve been reading more non-fiction affirmative and uplifting spiritual books to feed and encourage my positive thought process. I’m an optimistic soul in general but being in a worldwide pandemic for the last year and worrying about compromised loved ones and adapting to a topsy turvy world can puta damper on things. I find Powerful Thinking an uplifting, motivating, and inspiring book. The advice or guidance found in this little hardback isn’t anything new, but the straightforward approach and conversational tone certainly puts your thoughts in a good place. And that’s powerful. Renewing our mindset can affect every aspect of our lives, so being understanding, controlled, disciplined, and satisfied can make daily life more rewarding and enjoyable.
