Poor customer service on a defect item

Tried with all my hand strength to zip down the one shoes zipper- totally stuck. Returned these to Macy's and got "if you want us to replace them you'll HAVE TO PAY THE FULL PRICE VS THE DISCOUNT!". I just settled for my money back. Sad customer service
