Weird

I had watched the show first, then while browsing the shelves at a bookstore, saw the book and thought huh, why not give this a read. Sometimes with books I either take my time reading it or just read through chapter after chapter. After reading this one, it was a little bit of both. First half 3 stars, second half between 3.5 to 4 stars. What a weird, but kind of interesting read,

Meh

Pretty predictable end for me. The beginning felt really unnecessary and off-topic at first but it tied things together and helped wrap everything up nicely. I think I hated every character in this story, except our MC's boss and his wife.

What a twist at the end!

Overall this is a good book. But, in my opinion, is was a slow book. The story revolves around the main character, Camille and her relationship with her mother and step family. While reading the book you might think you know who the killer is, but in the end there is a twist you might not thought of and there you will understand why the killer did what they did.

Good Psychological Thriller

I read this on audible and wondered if I would have preferred reading this book directly. The story was good and unpredictable but none of the characters were redeemable humans, and it felt really slow at some point. I'm glad I read the story but I'm wondering if perhaps it was built up too high and set my expectations unreasonably high. Good overall!

Sharp Objects

Camille Preaker is a so/so newspaper reporter in Chicago that gets sent to her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri to cover the murder of a young girl the year before and a girl that is missing now. Camille herself has several issues - she's never gotten over the death of a younger sister when she was a child herself, self-mutualization after that, a mother that hates her and the fact that Camille is an alcoholic. Soon after Camille arrives the missing girl is found dead. An intense fast-moving book that certainly gets very creepy. Things spiral out of control. Unknowingly I started reading the book and soon realized that it was a series I watched in 2018 on HBO staring Amy Adams. So, it was kind of disappointing to realize that I pretty much knew what was going to happen and how it would end. I still enjoyed the book anyways.

0 Stars

If I could give this book 0 stars I would. I was so disappointed because I loved gone girl but the main character was boring and the killer was predictable.

Phenomenal!!!

This book would have easily been 4 stars IF it wasn’t for the ending. If you think you know the ending, you don’t😭
