Two A9IIIs, Hoping I didn't Make Wrong Choice!

I’ve been using the Sony A9III across just about every scenario imaginable — from fast-paced sports photography and sideline action to studio portraits and low-light shoots. The global shutter has been a game-changer for freezing motion and syncing with strobes in ways that other cameras still can’t touch. It’s fast, reliable, and the ergonomics just feel right in the hand — everything about it screams “ready for work.” That said, as much as I love this camera’s usability and performance, it’s starting to feel like Sony is letting it fall behind in terms of firmware support. Some of the newer, more affordable bodies like the A7C II and A7CR are getting features that should already be available here — like the refined color tuning, improved AI autofocus refinements, and newer menu updates. For a flagship camera that launched with such innovation, it deserves more post-launch love from Sony. The A9III is still an incredible tool — but the gap between its hardware potential and software updates is becoming noticeable. Still, when I’m on the field shooting a soccer game or locking in a portrait session, it reminds me why I chose it — speed, precision, and zero blackout. It just works. I just hope Sony keeps it evolving with firmware that matches its hardware greatness.

The Ultimate A9

I've been a fan of the A9 series since the first one came out. Every time there is an upgrade, I wonder "what could they possibly do better?". Well, the A9iii is, in my opinion, the ultimate A9 series camera. The AF is even better than the previous models. The global shutter removes whatever vestiges of sync problems may have existed and the colors are incredible. I have no notes.

My experience with the A9III

The 7 day Sony Loaner Program is what pushed me over the edge. I bought the camera over a month ago and have been enjoying the new features almost every day since.
