Is the face wash rancid

I just received yesterday and the delivery was left out in the hot sun. I used the face wash last night and it smells like rancid oil. I doubt it could be from one day in the heat, but has anyone noticed that rank smell with the face wash? Maybe this stuff is too volatile to be stored or shipped in higher temps.
