The North FaceMen's Borealis Bag
Product details
Web ID: 23865621Awesome backpack (not for heavy books)
This packback is amazing . I have used it for work, traveling and school . It's big enough for a few notebooks and a laptop. It can hold a decent amount of clothes if you are traveling . If you have heavy books I don't reccomend it it won't hold all of them. I've had this backpack for almost two years and so far it hasn't ripped or anything. I have the coral green one and had to wash it by ha d a few times .

Great for high school/college
High school student using bag. Bag held up all school year (Feb now) still looks new, great Northface quality. Good spot to put a computer, albeit it needs to be a smaller computer (Chromebook barely fits). Good support for back and lots of pockets for things like pens or snacks.

Stiff
It's different in person than it was online for me. I don't like how hard the back is and don't need a million buckles because most people who will get this only need one. I wish the flex-vent thing would go away and there was just a more water-tight seal. Overall it does the job and it has big enough pockets for the average college student.

i love this backpack, it's just the super annoying piece of plastic they decide to put in the back. it wouldn't be a problem if you could remove it.

NICE DESIGN, STIFF AS CARDBOARD.
Look guys, don't get me wrong, I bought this bookbag because i thought it was appealing and I loved it when it got here but it literally feels like there's a piece of cardboard in the back of the bag, it makes it even slightly hard to unzip, be aware that this is a nice durable backpack but you will carry a piece of wood along with everything else you choose to put in it.

Too small
I've had this bag since my freshman year of college (3 1/2 years). I use it every single day and it still looks brand new and hasn't shown any signs of wear or tear. It's extremely durable and comfortable but the only downside is that it's sooo small.. like way too small and has really no room to stretch. This bag fits a binder, a notebook and a small textbook TIGHTLY. I really love it but I hate the size. I definitely wouldn't repurchase solely because of the size but other than that it's great quality.

Stiff as a Board
This product is very high quality and is made with top notch materials, and I am sure that it would withstand much wear and tear before eventually breaking down. Despite this, this backpack has one significant issue, namely how flexible it is. I chose this backpack to replace my Dakine Campus 33 liter backpack and was sorely disappointed. The back part of the pack (with the cooling feature) is stiff as a board, as if there were an unreasonably large and stiff piece of cardboard shoved in there when it needn't be. This stiffness made it almost impossible to fit my 12.5 inch laptop (with protective laptop sleeve) in the pack's specified laptop sleeve. While I can see why this backpack would appeal to some, as a full time college student who must carry at least 2 books, a notebook, binder, and laptop along with pens and pencils, I find the non-flexible spine to be highly uncomfortable. If you are a college student and are used to soft spine backpacks, I would not recommend this pack.

Terrible redesign.
Unfortunately, I have the an older Borealis, which I've had for about 15 years. It's a hiking daypack, with accommodations for a hydration bladder, a thick, useful waist belt that could stow away in the bag, and comfortable shoulder straps. It has been my everything bag -- carry on for flights, commuting on my bike, hiking excursions, carrying camera gear, overnight bag for travel. I still have itand use it on occasion, but it's getting long in the tooth, so I checked out the new Borealis line as a replacement. The new Borealis is now a bookbag. There is no compatibility with hydration systems. The waist band is thin and useless. The shoulder straps are thick, but the padded section is too short and too rigid. All of the outdoor utility is completely gone. I ended up getting the Angstrom 28, which I've been very happy with, as it has all the features of my old Borealis and a few extras.
