"Old Luxembourg, was introduced 250 years ago. The Old Luxembourg décor pattern dates back to the 18th century, starting in 1768 when the Boch brothers used the Brindille, a hand-painted delicate branch, on fine stoneware dishes in their factory in Septfontaines, Luxembourg. Old Luxembourg features the traditional porcelain color scheme of deep cobalt blue on white porcelain. Old Luxembourg Brindille features the same blue floral branch motif enlarged in a bolder, contemporary style. The traditional form and decoration has been reinterpreted and adapted into a modern design—in both powerful blue on crisp white like the original, and then the inverse of white décor on deep blue. This modern take on the floral branch motif offers a classic look, reimagined. The Old Luxembourg Brindille is a premium porcelain collection, decorated using the lithographic technique. All items in the collection are dishwasher and microwave-safe and therefore, made for everyday enjoyment. Dishwasher and Microwave safe"
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful serving plate. Note it’s not much bigger than a dinner plate so not a really big platter.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love having these contrast plates to offset the white and blue of the main set.
I loved the quality of the porcelian, the pattern and the deep blue color that is available in the salad plate. They are my daily use tableware but they are so beautiful that I am pleased to use with company. I spent a lot of time looking for new tableware as I still have the original set I purchased when I moved out of my parents house, before I got married and I was overdue. I liked the modern look but still the classic pattern. You can mix in the original Olde Luxembourg pattern with your set.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this bowl!! Multi-use bowl for soups, mixing dressings, fruit bowl, etc. Perfect!
After 14 years of marriage, my husband and I decided to splurge on a nicer set of dishware. We wanted a white, but not just plain white. We saw this and fell in love as it has just the right amount of detail and in blue! Our favorite color! Its a very sturdy porcelain and it looks great on our dinner table. We will be using it for casual and special occasions.
Our first set of Villeroy and Boch dinnerware was from our wedding 22 years ago and we still love it. Now that our children are starting to leave the nest, we felt it was time to send our tried and true set with them and buy something new for the next phase of life. Of course we stayed with Villeroy and Boch because of the weight and quality. We decided on the Old Luxembourg Brindille design. It’s so versatile and lovely and will go with every occasion and piece of blue and white vintage china we have. We’re thrilled! Thank you for your continued excellence.
