Durability
This product performs well overall, and I would have rated it five stars. However, the on/off switch stopped functioning within 9 months of purchase, and unfortunately, the return policy has already expired. Very disappointing given the otherwise good performance.
Unique design - wish it stayed warmer
I absolutely love the unique design of this coffee pot! I give it 4 stars because the hot plate does not keep the coffee in the carafe warm for long. Anything over roughly 30 minutes needs to be reheated unfortunately.

Overflow issues
For the most part its ok, but it works more like a typical coffee maker vs. like a poor over. The really unpleasant part is that it pumps water to fast for it to flow through and overflows everywhere wo you have to keep a close eye on it which isn't what I wanted.
Machine Needs improvement
I ended up returning this brewer. It has such good potential but it wasn’t great. There was a chemical smell that didn’t go away after multiple cleanings and uses. My coffee had an oil residue that left my mouth coated with the worst feeling. I can’t figure out if its the machine or the coffee oils but I can say I’ve never had the oily texture from my previous machine or my mocha pot or french press which leads me to believe it’s somehow residue from the machine.
Don’t buy
This unit is incredible until it’s not- doesn’t last. We made it 8 months and now it’s the cause of liquid nightmares in the kitchen- all you have to do is fill the water and the machine leaks everywhere. Of course it’s too late for return- waste of money!
Willow Kitchen pour over coffee maker design
The pour over coffee maker sort of works, but not what I expected. It definitely needs a timer, for example it uses all the water tank whether you want one cup or 10 cups! You can’t ask it to make 2 cups. A timer could help in that it would stop the brewing after say 2-3 minutes. Also, if you use an extra paper filter to get darker coffee, it overflows and makes a mess in the kitchen. I have two recommendations for the designers. 1) put a timer on the system, 2) slow the water flow further to avoid overflow.
I love this coffeemaker
I love it now but I had questions and problems at first. The customer service from Willow was not helpful at all. I was definitely prepared to return the coffeemaker based solely on their response. I'm glad I didn't, but it was a close one, and they really need to do something about how they respond to questions/complaints.

Bottled water
The instructions state to run water through it a few times before brewing coffee. I did not realize the part that holds the water is not detachable and I used sink water because I didn’t want waste my bottled water and now there’s hard water buildup in there and it’s very difficult to clean. Unfortunately, the part that holds the water is not detachable otherwise I would not have an issue with that particular part. I do not like the fact that I can’t see or clean inside the coffee maker because it’s likely there could be some mole buildup at some point and I like to stay ahead of that and clean it but there’s no way to actually clean the inside parts. This type of coffee maker is something that I would probably only keep for a year at this point because there’s no way to clean it or assess for mold or other toxic buildup. This coffee maker is a good idea, but the structure of it is problematic. This is not something that can be kept long-term since you can’t detach/ clean the parts.
