Great for Fine Hair

I bought this after having used the brand while traveling in another country. It curls my fine hair without frying the ends and creating heat damage. My hair is smooth and looks great. It heats up quickly and is actually a pretty compact design. Love the way it handles and the cool grip on the end.

Not For Me

I'll start off by saying I love and only own GHD hot tools; however, I have always used the straightening irons to curl my hair, and they do a fantastic job and hold curls for days. I decided to buy this because I wanted a wider barrel curl, but this wasn't for me. I have fine, blonde highlighted hair and the clamp on this barrel is much too harsh. I felt like it would take my hair with it. Also, it didn't curl as well as the straightening iron. The iron is really nice though and lightweight. I'm sure this is amazing for someone else but not for me. Sadly, I had to return. I think best suited for someone with thicker hair.

Beautiful big curls and sleek styles

My wife has thick, naturally wavy hair that she thinks is too wild (but I like it). This curling iron can handle her hair and smooth it into big curls or a sleek but voluminous style that mimics a good blowout. She is very happy with the results. It heats up incredibly fast and the cord spins freely where it meets the tool, so it never gets tangled up. The only complaint is that the tip and the paddle you press are heat resistant only at the very ends, so if your fingers move up too far, they can get burnt. The package does include a heatproof glove, but the additional step is a little frustrating. It would be nicer if the parts of the tool that you touch were better insulated instead.
