Do Not Waste Your Money on This Bookshelf We bought this bookshelf because we needed something large, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The instructions are confusing, poorly written, and missing critical details. Another reviewer mentioned how difficult it is to assemble, and they were absolutely right. • The booklet ends with attaching the back panel, but earlier instructions require securing earthquake anchors to the wall. That means you’d have to undo the anchors just to finish the back. • The diagrams are vague and lack the detail needed to understand how pieces fit together. • The design itself is flawed: it’s essentially two bookshelves stacked into one. After building the second, you’re expected to lift the first and align it perfectly on top of flimsy eccentric rods. The whole process was so frustrating that we ended up gluing the unit together just to make it stand. For the price, this product is simply not worth it. Save yourself the headache and look elsewh
Not worth the money
I have always been pleased with my furniture purchases from Macy’s but this is the WORST purchase ever! First of all the instructions are terrible! My brother who has over 20 years as a contractor spent over 5 hours putting one cabinet together mainly because the instructions are soooo bad. He finally just stopped using them and used his experience. Second the quality is cheap not at all what I expected or have received from Macy’s in the past. You can see every screw hole in the cabinet cubbies, no screw covers included. Third the color is not black and it is unfinished, you can see the glue on every single edge or it’s just faded! Sad part, I bought 2 of them. Ugh!!!! The only good part, it has the space I wanted, that’s the only reason for 2 stars. We put together a desk the same night from a different manufacturer and took waaaaayyyy less time.
