Very hot appliance

I puchased my first toaster oven because I thought it would keep my apartment kitchen cooler than using the oven. I made two pieces of toast. I did not like how hot this appliance becomes in such a short time. It scares me that it stays so hot, even after turning it off and unplugging it.

Mysteriously stopped working

We've had it about a year and it mysteriously stopped working. The orange light between the knobs comes on, but the filament won't activate any more. However the "front loading" is very convenient for our kitchen space so we're getting another one.

LIKE IT BUT IT TAKES 3 MINUTES TO START HEATING!

Why did they set this so the HEATING COILS don't even start heating (turning red) for 3 LONG MINUTES!!!! Other than that, I like it a lot!!! Use it every morning for a few years now to toast my bagel before I drown it with butter and cream cheese!
