This chain is too delicate. It broke close to the clasp, I had it repaired and then it broke again. Money waisted.
Shame On You Macys
We were really excited about the gold chain purchased from Macy’s, but the disappointment set in fast. The chain turned out to be hollow gold, something Macy’s doesn’t make clear at the time of purchase. After wearing it ONCE, it snapped. I paid a jeweler to repair it, only for it to break again after a SINGLE wear. When I went back to Macy’s with the receipt and tags still in hand, they refused to return or exchange it. What made the situation even worse was that I wasn’t the only one — there were several other customers in line with the exact same issue, all being turned away as well. That alone says everything about the quality and the lack of accountability. If you’re thinking about buying a gold chain from Macy’s, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The chains are hollow, fragile, and not worth the money — and the customer service won’t stand behind their products when they fail. Save yourself the frustration and shop somewhere that values quality and customers.

At first, my boyfriend and I absolutely loved this Christmas gift for him. The necklace was beautiful and paired perfectly with the cross pendant he wanted to start wearing again. It was a 2mm 14k gold rope chain, and this was our first significant jewelry purchase, so we were very excited about it. Unfortunately, within a week of wearing it, the chain broke and went missing. We’re not entirely sure what happened, but the clasp is extremely small—similar in size to the clasp on my delicate silver necklace, which I’ve never had issues with. Given how carefully he wore it (kept tucked inside his shirt while working and only worn daily), we were surprised and disappointed that it disconnected so quickly. I understand that a 2mm chain is on the thinner side, but I had hoped that being solid 14k gold, it would be more secure and durable than this. Thankfully, the cross pendant on it was not his late mother’s cross, which would have been devastating to lose. Overall, we truly loved the look and quality of the necklace itself, but we were disappointed by the clasp choice and the fact that it didn’t last even a full week. We would love the opportunity to be able to replace it in the future, possibly with a more secure clasp.

The necklace broke as my daughter was trying to put it on. I will be exchanging it for a new one.
Poor quality
I got this for my son for Christmas and in 3 months it has broken and been repaired 3 times. Waste of money, definitely buy the plan so you can get it repaired at least
