Worked well during my trip to Italy
I purchased this bag for my three-week trip to Italy. I specifically chose the two-wheel model because the wheels appear to be bigger than the four-wheel model and would handle rough surfaces better. The bag worked well. It handled Italy's cobble-stoned streets and rough sidewalks very well. It held enough clothes that I was able to do laundry only twice in three weeks (and came home with a suitcase full of dirty laundry). On the way over, I was able to compress the bag and used it as a carry-on onto the planes. On the way back, due to several purchases in Italy I had to flex the bag out to full capacity so I checked it. Overall the bag holds a lot and performed well. Assuming this bag should last some years, I'm very happy with my purchase.

First time use
No doubt my new Essential 22” carry on 2 wheel carry on is a handsome choice after doing a lot of research. One of the reasons I chose this suitcase is because of the back construction which allows for the inside base to lay completely flat. The other reason is the life time guarantee. The suitcase weights close to 10 pounds empty so I personally would not use this suitcase as a carry on. I bought it for a 3 week European trip. I’m a good packer and like to wear my clothes multiple times but of course all else adds up. I had a nice size backpack for my carry on. I understood had of time that I’ve no room for souvenirs.

Disappointed Flight Attendant
I spoke with no less than 10 people who have and love this bag before I bought it. Maybe my hopes were too high, as everyone raves about it. I’ve only used it for two trips and will update if anything changes. I’m really hoping I grow to love it, or maybe I got a bum bag with bad wheels and sticky handle…. PROS: - light-colored lining makes packing and finding things a breeze - it’s compact and slim but holds a ton - the compactness of it makes it easier to carry up a flight of stairs than other, bulkier rollaboards - seems durable, but I’ve also seen them beat to crap by heavy travelers who say it’s hard to find repair shops these days - easy to pull up a step or onto a bus/train—the lower part of the handle casing allows the bag to slide up easily and doesn’t get caught. I really appreciate this CONS (which are pretty major to me, since I pull my bag for several city blocks multiple times a week): - THE WHEELS: when I spin them with my hand they stop almost immediately. My old bag’s wheels spun smoothly and for a longer amount of time, so it pulled smoothly and easily over surfaces like rough concrete. Not this one. It feels like how my old bag felt when it needed its wheels cleaned out or a new set. Not looking forward to how this rolls when it gets gunked up by city grit and airport/aircraft dirt and dust. Also, it sounds and FEELS like a shopping cart when you roll it over concrete—it’s not smooth on my arm/hand. I can feel the vibrations in my arm. Also: IT IS LOUD. - the handles are sticky and tricky to pull out and put down— considerably worse/more difficult than my old bag, which wasn’t exactly the most smooth - external pockets aren’t quite expandable enough for my liking. I miss being able to shove a book or water bottle into an external pocket. I knew this going in and was told by someone that you can fit a water bottle in the small back pocket. A small plastic water bottle would fit but anything larger threatens to fall out.

Missed details in an overall nice bag
The bag itself is really nice, but they definitely cheaped out on a few main parts. The handle wobbles and has a cheap plastic grip that transmits all bumps--no rubber or wrap included. The wheels are plastic and loud, so rolling over concrete sounds like a skateboard. They also get caught easily on small debris and lock up, a problem I never had in my old Luggageworks bag that was 1/3 the price. I'm a pilot and the J-hook, which I use everyday, is laughably bad and cant be permanently attached. It falls off all the time. It also doesn't attach to another bag easily--it's very poorly designed. But the bag itself is very nice, especially the expansion/compression system. And the warranty is of course a major perk, which I havent needed. So, decent bag overall, but some major components need overhauling to be a truly great bag.

Essential 22” 2 Wheel
Really nice product. Rolls very smooth and the quality of the bag is excellent. The expanding feature is great! Highly recommend after looking at multiple competitors.

Spacious, smart, love the interior
Spacious, smart, love the interior levers for compression. While certainly expensive it is much more for that expense relative to other brands.
