Read before buying

Looks pretty but not impressed. You don't hear a click when it finishes boiling so you have to keep looking at the nob to see if it moved. Worst of all there is a plastic smell which emanates from top lid. Since the inside is metal I don't think it's in the water but if you smell it this means there are particules floating around somewhere. Microplastics are a big no no.

Run away

Our second SMEG kettle has now died. Water leaking from the water capacity window and water leaking from where the base meets the black shell. Leaks all over the counter. Leaks from water window into the switch, who engineered that? So unhappy with SMEG products lately.

Heavy. Outer Surface gets too hot. Smells.

The exterior gets too hot and remains hot for a long time. Not safe. There is a bad odor coming from the kettle- you notice right after you open the package. On the heavy side.
