Faulty compressor that cannot be replaced

We purchased the fridge four years ago based on attractive looks and overall reviews. It was more expensive than other brands. It never received much use because it was a bar fridge in our basement rec room that didn't get used a lot. The compressor quit working this spring and I was told it could not be replaced. I also tried to see if it was anything else (loose wires, etc.) without success. Disappointed it only lasted four years and is now in a landfill.

Problematic and now dead

We bought this beverage cooler about 6 years ago. Within the first year a cooling fan failed. Newair sent a replacement fan at no charge but it was not the correct fan after 2 more attempts we received the correct fan. Had to pay a refrigerator tech to install it. Newair DOES NOT have service technicians. A different Fan failed a year ago. We replaced it. A few weeks ago the unit quit cooling and was actually warm. This time we contacted our home warranty company. A technician came out and reported the compressor had failed. Parts not available from the manufacturer to repair the unit. So now it is useless. In addition, the cooler was always noisy. We will get another beverage cooler but it WILL NOT BE A NEWAIR brand. We will buy a name brand which has service technicians and stands behind their product.

Unit Died Less Than 2 Years!!

I cannot recommend these units. My unit died in less than 2 years of use. The unit stopped cooling and when I contacted newair they offered to send out a new temperature sensor. This did not fix the issue and another call to newair informed the unit had a cooling system issue. I had the unit diagnosed at a local appliance repair who identified that the compressor was not longer working. New air doesn't offer parts to fix any cooling system issue so the unit is garbage at this point. New air offered me 40% another unit that would end up costing me more than I paid for the unit initially in 2022. Very disappointed and cannot recommend these units.

It was great initially...

Had this unit for a few months until frost buildup started occurring at the back of the unit. We would fully defrost and it kept happening. Waiting replacement unit now and I am really hoping we do not have the same issue again.
