wear these 'puffers' a lot

Cut = 10, Puffiness (for a light 'puffer') = 10, Sewing quality = 10, Understated-ness = 10, Warmth (for a light 'puffer') and overall value = 10. Where I live the year-around average daily temp is 40ºf. Across the last fifteen years I've come to own and wear this one + three other lightweight 'puffers' from two other companies. The oldest and least expensive is branded '32º'. It's almost worn out now. Two were from Sierra Designs (one similarly hooded) which were priced slightly higher and this Marmot is still slighter higher priced than the other hoodie, but it is slightly thicker has what feels like denser down, is better cut, and wears noticeably nicer and warmer. I wear these 'puffers' all the time from October through May, and rarely use a car, which is why I've ended up with so many of these.

No-nonsense Functionality and Quality

I bought the Marmot Highlander Hoodie in Pecan, size Small, as a gift for my son. He loves it, and has become one of his favorite jackets! It may not be as premium as other brands such as Rab, Patagonia, or Arcteryx, but Marmot makes top notch garments overall. The Highlander provides solid warmth for its down content, ligthweight, generously cut (maybe a little too much around the waist), and sleeves taper just right to an elastic cuff. Chest pocket is always a bonus, actually, a must-have! The hood could be adjustable (but I know this would affect its value to cost ratio). I'm impressed with the quality and its no-nonsense functionality (a wide range of case uses short of technical expectations for extreme arctic activities). The pecan color is really chic, the fabric not too shiny, so it works and is stylish to wear from early fall, to winter (with layers), and into spring.

Warm without bulk

Coat is warm without being bulky. It’s pretty light weight but boyfriend says it’s warm. Ran tide to size.

Jacket you can wear anytime, with any outfit.

This is a wonderful jacket. I got it in black for my partner and I know he will have it for a long time. Nice layer for the cold winter in VT.

Warm, but runs big.

Warm, but runs big. A large was a little too big and a medium was a little too small for me. Stuck with the large, got it for a good price so I think it was a good value for the money.

Light as a feather, but cozy warm

I have three of these in different colors. One in size medium for an oversized option and two smalls which fit beautifully (I’m a female- 5’ 7”, 130 lbs.) The jackets are a nice topper for layering in cold weather and can be worn by themselves in shoulder seasons. I like that Marmot does a more boxy fit than other brands. I’m a slim person but like a jacket to fall over my hips, not hug them.
