NOT waterproof, organization could be better

I purchased this backpack in December 2023 after my previous canvas backpack got soaked through during my first couple months of bike commuting. One problem with this bag is that the zippers are not covered, so with any rain, water is getting through the zippers. And, with any more rain than a drizzle, the fabric of the bag gets soaked through. If you get stuck in heavy rain, the bag takes a few days to dry. I do really like the size and organization of the bag, although the shape is a little too rectangular. The top front pocket has a ton of great storage for all types of small items like pens, cash, and personal supplies. If it's full, though, or if the rest of the pack is quite full, that can make the bottom front pocket a little bit hard to access. The middle compartment between the laptop compartment and the two front compartments is a bit hard to organize. Particularly if there are items in the zippered mesh pocket in the middle compartment, it can be hard to get to the bottom. Further, I feel like the laptop compartment could have additional organization. It can fit more than just a laptop, and since the middle compartment can be hard to organize, sometimes I will put books and my laptop in the laptop compartment and my lunchbag or gym clothes in the middle compartment, rather than putting all my non-laptop items in the middle. For a bag of this size, I appreciate that there are two separate 'main' compartments.
