One would think that investing in a Black and Decker product, you are investing in the best. Unfortunitly this rice cooker, the name did not live up to it's reputation. I purchased this rice cooker in Octobrr 2025. Used it less than ten times. The last time I used it, February 2026, there was a strong odor of plastic burning a few minutes later then the rice cooker shut off, and now it doesn't work. I missed the time line for returns, so I will just throw it away.

Bad Product
The product was defective. I tested it for several weeks and now it doesn't work. I've had a bad experience with this type of product; I always buy items on sale that are defective.

Returning after one use
This rice cooker worked one time. The second time the control switch wouldn’t stay down, finally did but then the cook and the warm light both went out.
