I am pleased with the pergola. The appearance is nice My one comment is that the instructions could use some clarification

Exactly what I was looking for
Love this Gazebo. Ive been looking for a Cantilever style gazebo for a few years now and this fit my needs perfectly. I have a bar facing my pool and wanted coverage without gazebo legs covering the view of the pool.... my only issue is that the main support posts are a bit to short for my liking so I made 9 inch tall concrete footings buried into the ground to lift it up about 9 inches higher overall. Aside from the short posts, love everything else about it.

Very good value but a few things to consider
Let me start by saying this is extreme value for the money. Any negatives I list here should not detract from the excellent value. All negatives are just suggestions and buyer awareness. 1) You definitely need to mount this in concrete and the anchors provided were very hard to work with. You'll need a mallet hammer to get them into concrete. I used alt mounts, the drill kind. Either way. Pour a little concrete (wet) or anchor resin into the hole and verify you have both a concrete drill bit and hammer drill. This one part or the build took the most time. Get your mountings right. Also, you only get 1 shot to drill concrete. Aecojoy needs to do a better job of giving dimensions and more importantly, distances from structures. 2) Before buying, I asked the chat help if the hardware to mount to the house was included. They said it was. It is not in the instructions and it is not included. If you are using it to mount to a house like I did, you need a plan here. 3) The instructions do not include that once built, you will need 1.5-2 inches gap between the 8 foot tall section and the house in order to install screws on the top side. If installing not near your house, this is no concern but just realize that if up against a structure, a gap must exist to get the screws in on the tall side. 4) It is not "water proof" it is water resistant, meaning some water will leak in between the polycarbonate and the support rails, then drip down inside the structure. Its only a little but still, its not an easy fix with waterproof tape from the polycarbonate to the rails or silicone, which I've done (you'll just never be able to take it down after :) ). 5) Shipping was incredibly fast. Great job here Aecojoy. I received it in 3 business days which is crazy fast. 6) Be meticulous in mounting your poles for which direction they are points. They need to be 137 cm apart (hole to hole) on the same plane, up down, horizontal and vertical. If not, the support arms will pinch and putting in the panels will be a chore and they won't be even. All the above aside, I'm really happy with it and how it turned out. The attached pictures show some flashing I used to redirect water off the house and onto the roof. There is also a photo where I pulled out the wind/privacy ground awning screen. Search on the site for "AECOJOY Retractable Side Awning, Double Side Awning, Waterproof Folding Outdoor Privacy Screen" to see this product. This was a phenomenal value and provides us a visual barrier to being blinded by the setting sun and stops the dog door from being blown open in storms.

So far, So great!!!
I’ve had the 20x10 outdoor gazebo for a couple of months now and so far it’s GREAT! Btw - this company didn’t offer a discount or give me any incentive to review. It was put up by one person in about 6-7 hours. I did opt for some Simpson bolts versus what came with it just to ensure I wouldn’t have any issues down the road with the posts not being really sturdy. The posts are very solid. Not flimsy aluminum that I was sort of expecting for this price, rock solid. I’ll start with a few minor observations. In heavy rain there are certainly small leaks that appear to be in areas around where the screws are on the roof. I could care less about a couple of small leaks as I wanted it more for shade around the pool and also somewhere that I wouldn’t get soaked if grilling and it started to rain. So this definitely checks those boxes. If you wanted to seal those areas with silicone or whatever, I’m guessing the leaks would stop?? The roof portion is flexible. Meaning when it is really windy the roof does have some flex to it. I’ve watched it in heavy wind and rain and never was I worried about it flexing too much. If we have hurricane force winds I will figure a way out to strap down the top, but until then I think it will withstand anything else. I don’t have snow where I live, but if I did have heavy snow I might be a little hesitant. Roof doesn’t seem sturdy enough to hold large amounts of snow. An inch or two would be okay but anything more would make me uncomfortable. I could be wrong though?? Everything else about this gazebo is great. I built a wall with some lumber on the end to hang a TV and it looks nice with the gazebo. The shade that it provides is fantastic!! The roof is tinted but you can still see through it, however sun doesn’t seem to get through at all which is great! I have grilled and used my smoker a few times since adding this and one of my concerns was it would be a little too short and the roof material could get too hot. Well it is the perfect height because the heat from the grill isn’t close to as hot as the heat on the other side of the roof from the sun, so I don’t think I’ll have any issues whatsoever with having it over a grill. The one additional thing I had to add was a small fan. Obviously the smoke doesn’t escape as well with a gazebo above, but that is certainly not a knock on the gazebo as it is doing what is supposed to, just something to think about if you are planning to grill under it. I would buy this gazebo again in a heartbeat. What a great deal for a large structure!!
