Stain Application
So far the unit has worked as advertised. It is a bit confusing about being able to use it for "certain paints". The instructions verses the web site and product page, I've used it for stain and will be trying with thinned paint. I wish the material container was larger as you have to refiill it often if spraying larger areas,

Hi farmer101, Thanks for your review. The Control Stainer series are meant to be used with thin materials, like stain. Any paint you use would have to be that thin for proper atomization, thus only certain paints. The QX2 is a small to medium project sprayer, typically fine finishing, like trim, furniture or cabinets. We have other models that would excel on your fence or deck or other larger projects. Worked well…except…
The only issue I found was the stain volume adjustment screw. It is too loose and I was constantly having to adjust it. I finally wrapped some teflon tape around the threads and it stopped turning on its own. Other than that, great little sprayer!

Great Budget DIY Sprayer
I bought this sprayer because I needed to stain my fence. After many YouTube video reviews between this and another product. I pulled the trigger on the Wagner. I wasn't disappointed, the sprayer worked as intended. Loaded the stain in the container, made a couple of test sprays, and started staining my fence. Hardly had to change the settings it came with. The only thing I disliked was the amount if times I had refill the container. I would be able to spray a 15-20 ft section of fence before refilling. Aside from that, It did what I needed it to do, no complaints on the performance of the QX5 Sprayer.

Worked like a charm!
I bought this to replace an old Wagner sprayer of the vibrating pump variety. The old one had suddenly lost suction and was spraying nothing while making a lot of noise. The new HVLP model is much quieter and sprayed my deck stain without any problems.

Great Unit Works Well
I bought this a few months ago and used it to stain wood fences. Easy to use and water base stain is easy to cleanup. Few parts to deal with. Has a small reservoir witch is great for small jobs. However, this could use a 25" hose attachment to help with using 5-gallon buckets on large projects like fences.

Big time saver!!
Worked great on for getting paint in what would be a tough spot even with brush. I had uneven shingle look cement board siding that would have taken forever but this spryer and a little brushing did a perfect job!

I've wasted so much time ...
I had no idea I could use a sprayer to stain my outdoor furniture - not until my brother-in-law mentioned he had done it. I can't believe I've wasted so much time with a paint brush each spring! I'm thinking I'll restain the decks with way, too. This particular sprayer was super-simple to use - just one quick read-over of the instructions and how to clean and I was ready to go. Do I feel I waste some product with the spray? Yes. But I'd rather that than waste time.
