Can’t be washed

It said it can’t be gentlely washed with cold water, and low heat dry. I used cold water, gentle cycle, much more gentle ingredients detergent and extra low heat dry only for 30 mins, it shrinked!!! Basically this sweater can’t be washed at all!. My boy wore it once and that’s it.
