Love the simplicity of the design. Easy to assemble. Install was straight forward. I hung mine running parallel to the ceiling joists. My attic has 2x4 joists, so I decided to sister 2x4's along the respective joists. I was not comfortable with only two lag bolts holding the ceiling bracket, so | added two extra. I also added metal flat bars to reduce lateral sway. Overall very happy with the product and would purchase again.

Not A Small Project
Depending on how you are installing this in your rafters is depending on how difficult the job is going to be. If your rafters go side to side where you are installing it where you have a rafter to screw right into; this is not too difficult. However, if you have rafters that go front to back and need crossbeams to screw into the rafters, it makes it a bit more challenging. I would have loved to have it the easy way, but our garage; not so much. Make sure you have a second person with you because there are a couple points where you need two able bodies. Try not to have too many OSHA violations so make sure there is someone there to make sure you don't die from falling off a ladder. The instructions are easy to read and follow. The assembly is not too difficult but this job is not for someone who has zero experience. It can be very dangerous if you have no experience. To raise and lower it, be prepared to turn the handle forever. It takes quite a while. Switch arms a few times to balance out the workout. Don't put anything up here that you need regularly. Otherwise, you will get a great workout. Overall, it turned out well for our garage. It holds up to 300 lbs, so make sure you do everything correctly to do it right. Untangle the cables. As for the template, it does say make it as tight as possible. My recommendation is to use a staple gun not the tape it came with; especially with humidity. Don't be in a rush with this one! There are plenty of warnings saying don't stand on this or under, but of course, I sat on it to make sure it was sturdy. I'm nowhere near the weight though.
