Okay but material not as substantial as they used.
They're ok but the material is a lot thinner nowadays. Not as substantial as they used to be. And I'm really not a fan of elastane.

Nailed it. Don’t change them!
Back to basics. These work. Fit well and look good. Don’t listen to the designers who’ll inevitably want to change them to placate their creative urges! Sack them all and keep these as is! Then I’ll be buying them for the next 20 years!

527’s are a great look and fit
I genuinely think most men overlook bootcut jeans in favour of tight-legged jeans which often don’t suit their shape. I’ve been wearing 527’s for years though this is my first black pair and they fit and feel perfect (remember you always need a size down from what you think you are and especially if they’re made with stretch material)

Not sure what happened
Not sure what happened to the quality control of these jeans. I have a pair of the originals that have no stretch and they have lasted over 1 years. Recent ones dont last 6 months without developing rips in zipper area and back pockets. NOW they aren't even slim fit. They are so baggy I was able to go down a size and still fit a pair of sweat pants underneath. My older pairs all hug my thighs like a slim fit should. I do not recommend
