Good as new 1 year later

I purchased this knife set about a year ago and all knives cut as they did when they were brand new. I’m the regular “at home chef” that appreciates fine kitchen tools and I must say that these knives actually make cooking more fun. The edges were all very patient with me as I became acquainted with each knife and thankfully the honing steel provided works very well. I always ensure that the knives are clean and dried after EVERY use. If you’re looking to purchase a nice set and are hesitant because of the price; splurge, these are worth it. The only problem is that I don’t NEED any of the other beautiful knives that Shun makes; but I’ll buy them anyway. Cheers and Happy Cooking

SHUN KNIVES

This particular line from Shun is not my favorite. The wooden handles tarnish so quickly and the blade appeared to get rusted within 2 weeks. I ended up returning them and going with the Classic vibe.

Can't beat Shun!

These knives are amazing. I bought them before seeing them in person, I own other Shun brand knives and trust the quality. The box they came in was so light I honestly was worried the block was missing. These knives aren't as "pretty" as my Shun Kaji knives since they don't have the folded steel edge but they are still an attractive knife with a wonderful full tang blade. I was so happy to come across them on sale and can't wait to add to my set. I did deduct one star because the block itself seemed really green and doesn't quite match the set, purely a cosmetic preference. But the knives themselves get 5 stars for being lightweight, sharp as can be and easy to maintain.
