does not work!!!

I just received this item. No power to toaster, after trying several different outlet. It definitely did not torn on period!!!1The plug in cord did not have protected shield on tip and it seemed like it may have been a return.

Does not work

Bread lifter will not stay down. Instructions indicated that the toaster needs to be plugged in for the bread lifter to stay down - it was plugged in, did not work.
