CEC-10 Egg Central
Product details
Web ID: 6583392I have owned two Cuisinart egg cookers. Both began to leak after a couple of years. They both were thrown in the trash. I don't think I'll buy another Cuisinart egg cooker.

Can't do without
This is the only way to cook eggs. Easy to cook, easy to peel, easy to store and ready to eat. We use it two times a week we had our first one many years, and replaced with this same brand.

Eggzactly what I was hoping for.
I’ve only had this Cuisinart Egg Cooker for a few weeks and so far so good. I mainly bought it to make hard boiled eggs so I haven’t tried the other egg recipes like poached eggs. This cooker is very easy to use. Everything you need is in the box. The measuring cup tells you exactly how much water to use so don’t use less or more than indicated. One thing I missed initially was that the plastic piece covering the metal piercing needle on the bottom of the measuring cup simply comes off by holding it and giving a slight twist and tug. The needle is very sharp. I found it’s easier to use the needle to pierce the bigger end of the egg. I found it best to place the needle on the bigger end and then gently twist the needle back and forth until you puncture the egg. A small hole is all you need. If the hole is too large egg will spurt out during cooking so try to make a pinprick hole. When the eggs are in place just put the top on and turn the Cooker on. It will beep when the eggs are done. Turn the cooker off and unplug it. Remove the lid and place the eggs in a bowl full of water and ice cubes. Let the eggs cool. Remove perfect hard boiled easy to peel eggs. Note on cleaning-The instructions suggest it’s best to use distilled water in the cooking process. I use tap water and inevitably there is a brown residue left in the cooker. That residue is easy to clean with a sponge and some dish detergent. I’ve also used Bio-Clean or Barkeepers Helper, gently rubbing for cleaning the residue. I’d recommend this egg cooker for its design, quality and ease of use. I think its a good value for someone like me who uses eggs regularly in my diet.

Cuisinart Egg Central: Important Notes:
Cuisinart Egg Central: Important Notes: Place the lower cooking rack over the base of the unit. The ribs on side handles should be facing upward. Pierce the "wider end" of each egg and place in cooking tray. Pointed End: This is the narrower end of the egg and is considered the bottom. Round End: This is the wider end, which is the top side. It usually has a small air pocket. After hard boiling eggs, they should sit in ice water for about 10 to 15 minutes before peeling them. The top two lines are: 170ml & 160ml. (170ml = 3/4 cup) The 170ml line reads both "Omelet" & "Hard Boiled", while the 160ml line reads both "1-3 Eggs" & "1-10 Eggs". Since that makes no sense to me, I only use the top line.

Hard pass.
The second time I used it, the alarm did not ring at the end of the cycle. That caused the interior plate to burn. Although I cleaned it up, it no longer turns on.
