I fell in love with this scent as soon as I had that first spray. If classy has a scent, then this is it. My wife absolutely loves it but n me as well. At first smell, I got some citrusy vibes, followed by a nice manly tobacco. The EAU DE PARFUM seems to last me all night without being overly strong. I felt confident all night wearing this scent.

The One EDP - is it still the one? After the flankers, the reformulations, I have to conclude - for longevity, overall ambery/tobacco/spice - this is THE ONE. Labdanum and the tobacco give a nice warm, ambery vibe, and the subtle sweetness lingers for a nice sugary/musky finish. If you have to have a DG The One for your collection to fill that slot for and all-around warm cozy scent, for date nights, fireside, or even casual cool weather... EDP should be the one!

Dolce & Gabbana The One for Men Eau de Parfum starts off very sweet on my skin, with a clear orange note right away. After a little while it turns warmer and gives me a cozy “campfire” kind of vibe, more like warm amber and spice than a strong smoky smell. The tobacco note did show up later, but it was light and not the main focus. It smells fine, not sophisticated by any means. The biggest downside for me was how fast it faded. I wore the sample while walking to the store, and after a few hours of being out, I could barely smell it on myself anymore, so it felt more like a soft, close to the skin scent than something that lasts all day. Mind you, it says it lasts 16hrs — how does that work? How many sprays do you need to do for it to be lasting as long as it’s advertised?

On my skin it opens with a mix of grapefruit, coriander, and basil, then settles into a smooth blend of ginger, cardamom, and a cozy tobacco-amber base that feels both sexy and comforting. I get about half a workday of noticeable scent before it becomes more of a skin scent, which fits well for dates or evenings out where I don’t want to be loud. The heavy, square bottle with its amber juice and dark cap looks refined on a dresser. Considering the designer branding and how often I reach for it, I think it offers good value as a signature men’s fragrance.
