Terrible sound

I bought this needing a CD player in the house and thought I can listen to Christmas music on it now. First of all I didn't think it would be small enough to fit in Barbies Dream House. The sound is horrible. The column goes way then way down. I didn't expect it to sound like a huge stereo, but can't you make one that's not so scrappy on sound??!!!

This is just what I've been looking for. Christmas gift for my husband, He loves to listen to the radio or cd when he is out on the deck and this will be perfect. I'm sure he will use it before summer in the house.
