I like making upside down cakes in a large iron skillet. This cake plate is an ideal size with a nice lip to it, which is perfect for a double chocolate raspberry upside down cake. The cake cutter is an excellent weight, the blade is sturdy, the handle feels good, and I suspect it will last for many, many years.
fiestaware cake plate & server
I noticed another reviewer who mentioned she wishes it has a pedestal type bottom. TIP - I bought the hostess bowl in the scarlett red to match my cake plate, you put the hostess bowl upside down, and place the cake plate on top. The hostess bowl is beautiful, it has the same type design on sides as the 90 oz. covered casserole. Very elegant looking, and I was able to find a glass cake cover for the top. The cake plate does not wobble at all, and I put a 2 layer cake on top and cut the pieces. Hostess bowl is a nice bowl by itself as well. I like that I can use both together, and also separately, and they do not take up much room to store them. You can also do same thing by getting the pizza baker., if you don't really want the cake cutter.. Also another person that reviewed mentioned her piece came with dirt on it. This has happened to me also. This is the pottery dust and someone at factory did not wipe if off. I have seen it on pieces in the store too. I suspect it probably is floating around in the factory and gets on everything, but they don't clean all of them off. I was surprised too, but I just dusted it off and washed it. It really shouldn't be mailed out or in stores that way, but I think it is just something that frequently happens during the manufacturing process and they miss a lot of pieces.
Love the Plate, Server fell apart!
I love this cake plate and server, but the server fell apart during the first use. The ceramic handle detached from the metal serving piece. I think the plate is so pretty and will continue to use it, but for the price, I'm disappointed that it didn't hold up better.

FIESTAWARE
ABSOLUTELY beautiful. I would definitely recommend this to my fiesta ware friends. I will use my plate as a part of my serving/entertainment tray. LOVE IT
Order cake plate get a dirty one
i got my cake plate,opened the box, wow how dirty. Dust all along the edges and streak. I dion't know where they got it but they should have at least cleaned it. I know I can clean it but it was a gift and I know they will ask me about it. I can not say ,well it was very dirty.i could not believe it was sent out that way. Very disapointed, i,am not sure they will do anything about it.just to let everyone know your item may be used or very dirty.
