Forerunner 970

The watch is perfect for me as I ride the ElliptiGO, lift weights and hike. Didn't give it 5 starts because the heart rate without the chest strap is inconsistent.

Vibrant watch packed with features and statistics

Great watch! It provides plenty of details/stats on run, sleep and health. If you came from an instinct like I have, the watch face is not protected like it is with the instinct. The instinct has a raised bevel all around the watch face that protected the screen somewhat. I work outside in some rough conditions. I have had a screen protector since i tooke it out of the box and have already had to replace it twice with about 3 weeks. I work in some tight spaces and have been trying to be more careful not to let the watchface bump anything. I May have to switch back to the instinct at work and back to the forerunner after. Love the vibrant screen. Tried the a phone call on it others stated they could hear me it just sounded lile I was on speakerphone. I could hear them well. Flashlight I had on both watches and love having the feature. I use it way more than I thought I would. Its a great watch packed with a lot of features. Battery life is great too.

Made the switch from my 7 year old Apple Watch to the Forerunner 970, primarily for extended battery life on backcountry trips. So far, the watch has been great for extended activity tracking. Had some minor troubleshooting at the start, and there’s definitely some drawbacks of pairing it with Apple products, but overall the watch functions as I hoped it would and is fantastic when it comes to training insights and activity tracking.
