Broke in hot water

I had just received the set and put the 3 plates in a sink of hot water to hand wash before using when I heard something in the sink and found that one of the plates had just shattered in to pieces. I had taken the same care with the plates as I always do with my more expensive Waterford crystal. Very disappointed in the quality of the glass!
