Packs a great sound

Great price and packs a punch! I have the Onyx Studio 1 and this is on par with that. Great bedroom speaker which sits in the corner.

pretty good but much too base heavy

quite good but very base heavy. If there is a way to reduce the base i would appreciate knowing it -- is there a jbl app for this speaker or is only for portable speakers.

Great Sound !

I spent a lot of time researching a new Bluetooth Speaker - there are dozens for sale - so how do you decide on one that is going to be suitable ? First I looked at the manufacturer. I knew that JBL produced quality items so that was an easy choice. Then how to choose the right product - there were lots of reviews - both from Users and Technical reviews. All stated that the JBL Link 300 was a speaker that performed extremely well. Looking on JBL’s web site I found that there was a refurbished Link 300 at an amazing price. I quickly ordered one ! On delivery, it looked as if it was brand new - no marks, scratches or any signs of handling. The setup was straightforward - connecting a sound source - wow ! The sound is amazing ! Certainly a room filler - volume goes really really loud without any distortion. I am very pleased with my purchase and will probably order another one for a different room. I paid for the Speaker with my own money - it was not supplied to me in return for a review - I am just a very satisfied customer !

Great speaker how to update

I purchased 3 of the JBL Link 300 2 came with firmware 1259 and 1 with 1690. The 1259 was missing many features and no matter what i did i could not update. The one with 1690 had all features including making calls. Now suddenly the one with 1690 stopped allowing calls saying it was unsupported. How do i get calls working again. My Link 20 with 1690 firmware has always made calls and still does and my HK 100 please help.

EQ functionality removed

Either Google or JBL have removed the EQ function from google home meaning that you can no longer lower the bass while listening at lower volumes. Used to use this speaker every day as the but now it is just used as a glorified nest mini. Unless this functionality is returned I would recommend buying a different brand.

RETURNED

Loud annoying bleep sound at every connection no way to silence or quiet. Sound thumpy with very flat high end. Not for someone who listens to orchestral music of any kind. However that's all moot since it's constantly cutting out. Several times a minute at its worst. Only way to stop it was turn off every notification on my phone as well as put it in DND mode and turn off Bluetooth. I'm sticking with wired speaker options.

This thing is garbage

I've got several other JBL bluetooth speakers, without the Google home assistant, that are excellent. This one is garbage. It plays fine from my phone but connected to my MacBook through iTunes, the music is slow. Both connected through bluetooth. Not sure the difference. Also the firmware is out of date. It's supposed to update on its own but it hasn't. I shouldn't have to spend so much time researching how to force an update, and I can't find any solutions for the music issue. I like JBL, but this speaker is garbage.
