I really wanted to like this coat, but ...

There's plenty to like about this coat. Gor-tex for waterproofing; nice insulation for warmth; longer length; nice hood; and plenty of pockets. But there were two dealbreakers for me that made me return it. First, the two-way zipper seemed awfully flimsy, and felt like it would separate at the bottom after not too many uses. Second, the sleeves are WAY too long (they covered my entire hand when at my side). Which might not have been a problem, except that there was no way to adjust them - no inside cuffs, no outside velcro adjustments. Which also meant that using gloves would have been pain. It felt that Marmot was cheapening out on items that should be standard on a parka with the price tag that it has. If you can live with these issues, then maybe this parka is for you. I can't and songs I returned it.

Perfect for NYC 2026 Winter

It’s a cold winter 2026 here in NYC and a light fleece underneath as a middle layer and you’ll be alright. The only problem I have is the zipper. It’s a double slide zipper and after 1 month the zippers won’t release to open the jacket. I am waiting for customer care to get back for some advice or solution. If I can upload a video of the problem I would.

Perfect Hood

I've been searching for a winter coat with a hood that fits normal. Most coats are built to wear with a helmet while on the slopes. Although I used to shred, those days are over.

Terrific coat

The Oslo Down jacket is exactly what I was looking for and then some. Living at 7,500 feet in the Rockies, wind protection is a big deal. This coat does a great job. It’s toasty warm and comfortable, very well made. I’m 5’10” and 165 and the medium size fits nicely. Having a way to tighten cuffs would be a nice add on. As a bonus the coat arrived 3 days earlier than expected, which was wonderful as temps dropped to single digits and our husky dog Juno was eager to get outside. And the green color is cool and higher viz than black would be Highly recommend this jacket. When it’s really cold just add a layer and it’s good to go.
