I’ve only ever smelled the original Mugler Alien a few times, so I was excited to try this sister scent in the Alien line. Upon first spray, this stuff is BOLD—I detected sugary sweetness, uplifting floral notes, and maybe even a hint of patchouli (though this isn’t listed in the fragrance notes, so it could just be my nose!). I think this would be an excellent night scent, as really projects on the skin but has rather inoffensive notes. The bottle is also absolutely stunning, and I love the push-down button spray functionality. My biggest disappointment is twofold—it doesn’t really strike me as very unique in its DNA (it honestly reminds me of both YSL Black Opium and Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb), and I don’t detect any of the raspberry notes listed in its scent profile. I normally LOVE fruity notes, so I was bummed that this scent leans more sugary/floral. However, I still think it’s a quality scent that could be worth investing in based on your preferences!

I really wanted to love Mugler Alien Pulp because I’m usually a huge fan of fruity florals, but this one just didn’t work for me. On my skin, the fragrance came across very strong, almost overwhelming, and the raspberry note leaned more artificial than juicy or fresh. Instead of the bright, natural fruitiness I was hoping for, it felt heavy and a little synthetic. If you love bold, intense scents with a sweet punch, you might enjoy this but if you’re looking for a softer or more realistic fruity floral, this might be a bit much. The bottle is gorgeous!

Overall I quite like this perfume and it actually reminds me a lot of Venom Incarnat by Stephane Hubert Lucas which is super expensive. The bottle is cute and I like that it’s refillable in theory. My one drawback on this is I feel like it has a fruity, juicy vibe, but it gets heavy and cloying in in warmer weather, which is when I’d want to wear it.
