Gold peeled and fell off

I bought these on June 8th and it is now August 13th. The gold covering started to peel and fell right off. I was very surprised because I had not seen that happen to any of my jewelry before. so now I look like I have silver earrings. The earrings are very beautiful tho which is why I did not give it a 1 star. They are the perfect size and still look great even in silver. I am just very disappointed the gold came off. I have been wearing these earrings every day for the past 2 1/2 months while taking them off periodically.
