This is a plane!! It meets specifications.
I read that many users have had serious issues with crashes and incompatibility. But in my case, I must say I'm incredibly grateful for the transfer speed and compatibility on my MacBook Pro M1-2020. I use it to save and play Hi-Res and Flac music files from my CDs, as well as DSD files. I play them with Audirvana and Roon. I couldn't be more satisfied with this product... and I've had it for two years. I'm even seriously considering upgrading to the SDSSDE61-8T00. I think that in my case and given the way I use it, its transfer speed of 1050MB/s would be more than enough.

We worst backup I've ever had
I just doesn't work! I always buy Scandisk, but never again, cost a lot of money !

It has drive file issues
I have to plug and unplug the drive 3 or 4 times before my computer reads it. It's a drive problem I'm sure, WHY they don't fix it (yes I updated the drive the when I bought it). It's almost class action at this point.

Unreliable
Purchased two 2 TB portable drives. One unopened. The one in use was working great until all of a sudden, it was no longer readable by any computer (Mac or PC). Entire data backup was in limbo until I purchased a data recovery software to get most of it back. Limited support online despite similar reports from other consumers. Disappointing product.

SanDisk Target of Class Action Lawsuit DON'T BUY
I purchased an SD Extreme Pro 4TB (model # SDSSDE61-4700) for Mac, and after about a year, it no longer works and can't be detected by my computer at all. As it won't mount and isn't recognized by Disk Utility, there is no way to fix it. This is a known defect that Western Digital / SanDisk has largely refused to admit to or address, and it has now lead to a class-action lawsuit. Do not buy this or any other product from SanDisk - not only are their products faulty, they refuse to fix known defects. Any company that treats its customer so poorly shouldn't be in business, especially a business as mission critical as memory.

Absolutely great robust product!
I work in the Seafood Industry, and I used my 1TB Drive all the time over the past 3 years, the only problem I have had is with the cable, which was easily replaced. More recently I left my drive in the pocket of my jeans, and it went through the wash, after 45 minutes in the heavy wash cycle, I thought I had lost all my data, but after allowing it to dry for 24 hours it still works fine! I think I will have to get another one as a backup but will continue using it until it dies. Absolutely great product!

Hi Folks, I bought a SanDisk Extreme® Pro Portable 4TB External SSD-Drive in germany when it came to the market. Because my Mac I use for advertising works only has 500 GB. It was the way best decision of my live.I hate sitting in front of a machine watching the pizza rolling. The SanDisk Extreme® Pro Portable 4TB External SSD-Drive is as fast as the internal SSD on the Mac and never ever caused any problems. And I do carry the piece from one office to another. My complete Data is on this SSD Drive. I only wish there will be a 10 to 16 TB version of it. Thanks for that.
