I really appreciate this vacuum. The one I own is 8 years old and works as well as when I first bought it. I'm trying to find a replacement canister to prevent having to buy a new one. Other than that I have no complaints, and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great vacuum.

Works well, great value
I like everything about this vacuum but I really, really miss the light that I had on my previous model. The light exposed the dust on my wood floors better than natural or artificial lighting in my home

Motor quit after 3 years
Purchased this vacuum about 3 years ago. The vacuum itself performed well, however the motor just went out. I pulled it apart and noticed the gasket crumbled into pieces and sucked up into the motor causing it to fail. I also had to replace the hose about a year ago due to a tear from normal use and wear. I would image a vacuum would last longer than 3 years but instead will have to purchase a new one. Would not recommend this vacuum.

Replacing the brush is ridiculous. Sad.
Vacuum itself was great, but changing the brush -- something they recommend doing every 6-12 months for optimal cleaning, btw -- is HORRIBLE. Look at the videos online. You need special screwdrivers and there are over a dozen screws, some in almost-impossible-to-reach locations. The bottom brush cover just opens with the turn of three "locks," but don't be fooled -- you can't reach the belt or remove the brush without going through a ridiculous number of difficult steps. Only after purchase did I learn Shark is NOTORIOUS for this. It turns a job that should take maybe five minutes into a chore that takes more than an hour, special tools, and a ridiculous amount of patience. Too bad because I love the vacuum itself, but because of this one feature, I'm going back to Bissell.

Frustrated
I’m hoping to like this vacuum,it just arrived yesterday but where is the toaster that was advertised as a free gift? Also, why am I receiving a notice of a late payment when the vacuum just arrived !
