Years ago I purchased a Shark stick vacuum with the motor at the handle end of the machine and a small dust bin. I purchased this beauty the Shark Navigator® Lift-Away® Deluxe Upright Vacuum because I have dust mite allergies, live in a humid neighborhood and had no idea that high humidity makes dust mites frisky!!!! This vacuum has wonderful features that are going to dominate the dust mite situation in no time. The suction is phenomenal and there is a large capacity dust bin. It comes with a crevice tool and an upholstery attachment, and more tools are available to order. It easily transforms into a hand held device with a click or two. I am getting used to the weight distribution after using the stick for so many years and my core can only benefit from the workout!!!! The only downside is the design prevents me from vacuuming beneath my bed...however I will look at accessories, and failing that, my Shark stick is still available!! I am very glad I purchased this...and I've got my eye on that stick steamer now.

Perfect to store.
I love my shark navigator. It's easy to get into hard places. Easy to put away and store. It gets almost every stain out of my run and also gets my floors clean to.

Disappointed
I soooo dislike this vacuum. When I need to vacuum, I actually dread it. In the past,I had a shark that broke so I opted for this model bcs it is free standing. Yes, it is free standing, but is so heavy and clumsy to maneuver...weight is on the handle. Bare floors or carpet or use as a canister hand held, horrible!
Astonishing suction.
Astonishing suction. So much so that I had to use the adjustable collar to reduce it. Light area rugs can be vacuumed without activating the "brush" as the powerful suction makes it difficult to push the vacuum cleaner without sucking up the carpet itself.

Good upright/terrible attachments!
I have a Shark Navigator that we bought several years ago. the basic design is the same as the current model. It works great for upright vacuuming. Good suction and maneuverability. When it comes to using the attachments (the brush or crevice tool) it's the clumsiest thing you ever want to handle. I get extremely aggravated every time I use them.

Falling down
I have used shark products the last at least 5 years. I loved my navigator but it needed to be upgraded so I thought okay I'll upgrade. I am so unhappy this vacuum is always following over it doesn't stand up straight most of the time and I'm afraid it's going to fall over on one of my grandbabies. It does have great lifting capabilities as far as sweeping the floor but with it always falling over it's extremely frustrating.

Not satisfied, its heavy to lift up&manipulate
I love SHARK brand, but I really don't like this vacuum from following reasons. It is super heavy to manipulate with it for me! I cannot get the hose under beds/furniture due to bulky big dust-bin. The cord is extremely annoying as it is always get under the rotating brush; there is missing some clever hook for securing the cord. Advantages are: it is very strong powerful sucction power and big dust-bin, low noise. That's it. I will never buy this model again. NEVER. I used to love the model with the upper dust-bin - super light, easy to get under furniture and beds...strong.
