the ONLY draw back

I started my Shun knife set with a basic classic starter set which had a paring knife, utility knife, chefs knife, honing steel and storage block. Soon after that I added a western chefs knife to cut harder material. The problem is that filled up the storage block that came with my starter set. Today I have ordered a bread knife but I also had to order a storage block with more capacity. I have nothing but good things to say about the knives I have and have great expectations (given my experience with the knives I have) for this bread knife when it arrives. They are a great example of you get what you pay for>

Glides through bread with ease!

The Classic Bread knife fits comfortably in each of our hands small or large. More importantly, this cuts through rustic dense bread with very little effort. I am thrilled to have this Shun beauty!

Nice knife, but blade a little too delicate

I love the knife. However I do find it is a little too delicate. I olny use it to cut bread, and after a while I noticed chips on the blade !!

Great addition

had another manufactures bread knife for years. This knife is superior. Great balance and excellent slicing ability. have replaced all of my knives with Shun now and could not be more pleased.

Top notch

You wouldn’t think you need anything special to cut bread, but the shun blade makes cutting bread, enjoyable. I find myself making bread just to slice it and the slices just keep getting thinner so I have more bread to cut. It’s a beautifully crafted blade with a great handle waited very well in your hand just feels good. I tried to capture that feeling in this review but really words don’t do it justice you just Gotta get your own.

Best bread knife I have owned.

Curve of the blade is nice. Slightly longer than most bread knives I have had. Just a beautiful piece of steel for the kitchen.
