Hope lost instructions inaccurate

I was hoping that this would be the answer to a new beginning of my cooking skills in the kitchen, but sadly I have now waited too long to open in order to return it. Here's what I found out after attempting my 1st smoothie. I read the directions thoroughly as I always do maybe even three times. Put the ingredients in the smaller glass container(yogurt and strawberries chopped) turned it on. After 30 secs heard an unusual loud sound thought maybe a strawberry too big. Poured my accomplishment into a glass took a drink... to my surprise there was a piece of plastic in my mouth. I strained the drink into a colander and found other pieces of plastic. Now I don't want to add to the "blonde moment" syndrome, but figured out it was the plastic guards on the blades which needed to be removed prior to use. I read the instructions again NOWHERE DOES IT SAY that there are blade covers or to remove them. I'm so use to seeing the new knives that are plastic, I thought that's what they were.

Great product

So far so good! I've only had a chance to unbox it and try it quick but I like it and it's not loud at all!
