New allies emerge. The Blood Moon draws near. Zélie faces her ultimate foe: the king who hunts her heart. When Zélie seized the royal palace on that fateful night, she believed her battles were over. The monarchy had fallen, and the maji had risen again. Yet, she never anticipated finding herself imprisoned in a cage aboard a foreign ship, trafficked alongside her people far from their homeland by warriors with iron skulls. Everything changes when Zélie encounters King Baldyr, her true captor, ruler of the Skulls, and the man who has decimated entire civilizations in pursuit of her. Baldyr's relentless pursuit of Zélie's power propels her, Amari, and Tzain on a quest for allies in unknown lands. But as Baldyr closes in, catastrophe looms over Orïsha's shores. It will require all of Zélie's strength to confront her ultimate adversary and save her people before the Skulls obliterate them forever. - The Complete Legacy of Orïsha Series: Children of Blood and Bone (Book 1), Children of Virtue and Vengeance (Book 2), Children of Anguish and Anarchy...

Children of Anguish and Anarchy By: Tomi Adeyemi Book 3 of Legacy of Orisha Publish Date: June 25, 2024 Publisher: Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group/Henry Holt and Co. (BYR) Sci-Fi and Fantasy/Teens and YA #ChildrenofAnguishandAnarchy#NetGalley 200 Book ReviewsProfessional Reader I would like to thank both NetGalley and Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group/Henry Holt and Co. For allowing me to read and review this book. Book Review: I enjoyed this book and gave it 4 stars. It picks up where the second book left off. I did have some problems of remembering what happened before because it has been a while since I read the second book. It didn’t take long though because this book draws you in. There is action throughout the book, and it holds your attention. I like how the characters support each other even though they had issues in the previous book. The characters were able to redeem themselves in this book. In this book they are being held on a ship against their will. They are able to break out and go in search of the other girl that the enemy is in search of. When they find her, they are able to gather together and work towards fighting the enemy. The so-called prince goes back to his land and gathers the people together after showing them what will happen. Soon they meet up with the other and work together. Do they defeat the enemy, or will they have lost, and all is lost with their lands. There are some interesting twists and turns, and you are on the edge of your seat.

Dang.

I was a bit afraid to read the third book because of lackluster reviews, but of course I had to read it for myself. I don't know. I liked the new characters and world, but there was just too much left undone and unanswered. I'm sorry, Tomi. I want to give it 4 stars but just can't, especially after being so connected to the first 2 books. They were AMAZING! I did enjoy the new characters, and maybe I would have enjoyed the book more had I NOT already read the first two books, which were written much better. No, never mind. I agree with other reviewers in that the last one was rushed l which was odd since it had been so long in between books. I agree that perhaps Tomi just out grew the series and characters in general. The book just kind of fell flat due to missing storylines and characters. Not sure what happened, but thanks for the first two books.
