When lowered, the overlapping poles don't stay straight, but otherwise pretty and durable.

Haven't used it yet; It doesn't come with a bulb so now I'm looking for the correct one. But what is more upsetting is after waiting forever! to get it I put it together and I can't get one of the two bars to sit straight. This lamp wasn't a cheap one but my cheap one is better than this.

Pullchain didn't last 6 mos. Known failure.

bought two of these - pull chains are defective across all lamps in this line. Read reviews on other sites for this make/model floor lamp. These chains cannot be repaired/replaced. Failure junks the unit.
