I first want to thank influenster for choosing me to receive this product for free. In exchange for my honest review. I can insure anyone reading this that my reviews are 100% factual and based solely on my own opinions without any outside influence I was asked to test the Eau de Parfume, Light Blue, produced by one of the top high-end Italian fashion designers in the industry, Dolce and Gabbana. For this review I wanted to try and pinpoint the scents without any outside influence, so before even looking at the ingredients on the label, I made sure I felt positive with the fragrance notes I picked up on before confirming. Jumping ahead, the label of the cardboard sleeve the sample perfume came in, lists the Light Blue perfume as having notes of Sicilian Lemon, Frangipani, which I came to find that scientifically it is known as plumeria, and Ambery Woods. I will say that I already knew that amber had to be a main ingredient because the only scents I picked up on were more deep and masculine, like musk and amber. I sprayed only one squirt onto my wrist and one onto the end of a small strand of my hair to see how the smell would dissipate throughout the day, but the amber remained too overpowering for me to enjoy any of the other notes it was said to have. I knew there had to be additional fragrances besides the amber within the formula. So after looking at the label and learning that there were floral and lemon scents as well, I tried hard to detect even the smallest hint of either one. It took some time but a couple hours after I initially sprayed. I was able to pinpoint the very meager note of citrus, but still no sign of any floral notes. As someone who is mostly drawn to a lighter more floral perfume, this was disappointing. I enjoy a more masculine perfume with heavier notes if going out for a night on the town, but this one seemed much heavier than others I've smelled so I wasn't able to appreciate any other sense it was mixed with. I should also note that I have sensory processing disorder so a lot of scents actually make me physically sick and it happens to be the deeper more woodsy and masculine scents that seem to affect me most. So this likely has something to do with my aversion to them. There are plenty of reasons why women may like a more unique perfume like 'Light Blue' and I appreciate these reasons, it just isn't for me. I also prefer the feeling that a passerby is able to clearly distinguish that I'm wearing perfume if I happen to be walking past them with a male friend. Even though I don't personally enjoy the perfume, I still don't believe it warrants a negative review because the scent isn't terrible. It is actually a decent smell, I personally just believe it's too masculine. This is why I believe it just still deserves a three. It's still good, just not good for me. I see others who absolutely rave about it so it could also be that I just received a bad product.
