4.5 / 5 - This book was everything I didn't expect it to be. I'm not a romance reader but the story told here is beautiful. A story full of reckless decisions led by love and hope. Reading this had me feeling sad, hopeful and shocked with the near end. I maybe should've expected it but the ending , I was blindsided by the truth just as Maddy was. You have to give this book a chance. I gave myself 5 days to read it but finished in 3 because I just could not put it down!

Great Book
This is a great read and is overall a good book, but I was expecting it to be longer. This was the first time I had actually read a ‘love story’, and it wasn’t cheesy like I thought it was going to be. Just a warning for parents though, this book does contain some sexual themes, but nothing your kid can’t just skip. It won’t change the meaning of the story if they skip over it, that’s what I did. I would recommend this book to pretty much anyone, it’s pretty simple to read and understand.

Amazing
This book really got me in my feels, and brought out a lot in my imagination. I really loved how the plot was twisted a lot, and there was so much imagery in it. I love how she wrote this book where the chapters are short with images in some parts. The plot just really was eating at me to read more though, and I loved this book. Definitely going to re-read in the future.

Take a Big Leap
3/30/22 Take a Big Leap Through the multiple sanitized doors and bombardment of medical equipment, lies Madeline, who spends all her time staring out her window wondering what her life could be like. Madeline is one in a billion with a rare disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, which makes her allergic to almost everything. Every day she is reminded of how she has lost her father and brother due to a car crash. Madeline has never been able to live a normal teenage life. She struggles to fight the urge to give up daily. Her mom and her nurse, Carla, have been by her side her whole life, but now 18-year-old Madeline yearns for more in life. However, with a wave of a hand from her new neighbor and love interest, Olly, everything changes. Madeline knows she can not continue to live the same solitary life. This realistic fiction novel will instantly hook you in with the elaborate thoughts and adventures of Madeline Whittier. I recommend this book to teenagers because they can relate to Madeline's story. The novel beautifully touches on thoughts teens grapple with daily, such as identity, choices, rebellion, and love. I enjoyed reading from Madeline’s perspective as she put me on a roller coaster of emotions, from her positive outlook to the dejection she often feels. I loved reading, where Madeline prepares to run away and has a new determined mindset of being independent and gallant; it exhilarated me. Olly and Madeline’s dynamic relationship is instantly intriguing. Olly demonstrates true love and brings out the best in her. Once, when Olly is getting hit by his father, Madeline risks her life by running out of the house to defend him; it makes me view her as caring and brave. In addition, he doesn't see her disease as a flaw, but rather makes her feel confident in her identity by embracing every part of who she is. I took away a great theme that will resonate with me in many aspects of life. It is vital that you take big leaps in life to reach your highest point and as Carla always says, “life is a gift. Don’t forget to live it” (141). Maddy is scared to break out of her shell, confined to the rules that her mother makes for her. Until she realizes, she has only been staring out a window her whole life. Doing things out of her comfort zone leads to her stronger, more confident character as well as the satisfaction she feels from being able to explore the world. She is finally capable of standing up to her mother about what she thinks isn’t right. Taking risks even allows her to meet Olly. I connect to this theme because at the start of the year I had just quit ballet and took a risk by joining cross country. During that time, I was very out of shape and had no confidence. However, when I joined it transformed my life. I was open to encouraging teammates as well as the confidence and determination that I esteem. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, should be on every teen's bookshelf because it expressively captures the perspective of a teenager, who is experiencing romance, tough choices, and identity crisis. Take a big leap in reading this phenomenal book. Just a flip of a page will be life-changing.

A Great Read and Amazing Story!
Madeline Whittier, a girl with an incurable disease is trapped inside a bubble that is impossible to escape. Not because opening the front door is too hard to achieve, but because if she steps outside, she could die. Olly, a boy with a broken family hoping that things will get better is wishing he could escape as well. When they meet, it is as if the universe has finally answered their silent prayers. Everything Everything is an enticing read that kept me wanting more. Filled with many relatable situations, this book was like a reawakening of every person’s dream. Every person’s life goal. To have everything. Madeline already thought she had everything but that was before she met Olly and her bubble popped. Though I do not have an incurable disease, I can honestly say that everyone, at some point in their lives, has seen someone and felt that small pinch that seems to grow into a throb of pain as time goes on. And that pain is love. When Madeline and Olly told each other how they felt, it was a bitter-sweet moment for me. Because, though relatable for some, telling someone how you feel doesn’t always go as planned. And this is why I found these characters so credible and “real.” They were nervous and they were scared of rejection. Just like everybody else. As mentioned before, Madeline has an incurable disease that prevents her from leaving her house. But, that doesn’t stop her mind from wandering. I found it quite alarming how protective I felt of her when she and Olly ran away. The fear and excitement I felt when she saw the ocean was nothing I had ever experienced before. And I guess Madeline felt the same way. It was her first adventure and she was going to enjoy it to the fullest. I think everyone can find one thing to relate to or compare to their own lives in this wonderful book. I find the title very relatable as well. Because we never know just how much we want something until we see that we can’t have it. Everything Everything, to think you have everything but to still want it all. And this is a very important message because it represents human nature. We are always wanting more even if we have everything we need. Once we’re able to accept what we need is what we want, then life will truly be grand.

How nothing became EVERYTHING!
I love this book so much. Such a great plot twist! The courage of Maddy is something iconic and amazing. Her life of nothing became absolutely everything after meeting Olly and she was willing to risk feeling alive over being alive.
